Duties and responsibilities: An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who cares for a patient before, during and immediately following a surgical or medical procedure by administering appropriate anesthesia and monitoring the patient for reactions and complications, and to ensure comfort and manage pain.

Salary: $300,000 annually or $450,000 with experience

Classes with a math and science concentration certainly go a long way in preparing a future anesthesiologist for success in college and medical school, attend a four-year undergraduate program, enroll into pre-medicine or another science-concentrated program, though it is not required and anesthesiologists are required to attend four years of medical school where they generally spend the first two years building on basic sciences and the second two in clinical training.

Reflection: I wouldn’t like to become an anesthesiologist because It doesn’t call my attention and I believe that when you pick a job it has to be something that you love and have a passion for.
