Floral Designer
Duties and Responsibilities:
A floral designer is in charge of cutting and arranging live, dried, and silk flowers and greenery to make decorative arrangements and displays. They also help their costumers select flowers, ribbons, containers and other accessories for their arrangements.
Salary:
$23,810 annually
Education:
Floral designers must have a high school diploma and special programs
in design and caring techniques for flowers available through private floral schools, vocational schools,
and community colleges Classes in flower and plant identification, floral
design concepts, advertising and other business courses, plus experience
working in a greenhouse are part of many certificate and diploma programs which
only some community colleges and universities offer.
Reflection: I find this career interesting to me because I like flowers
and I would like to work with flowers and designing a floral arrangements.
