Trauma Nurse
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Emergency/ Trauma
nurses provide care to patients who have suffered serious and sometimes
life-threatening physical injuries e.g. Car accidents, work related injuries
and suicide attempts. These injuries can potentially result in secondary
complications such as respiratory failure, shock and death. trauma nurse must
respond with decisiveness and clarity to unexpected events by assessing,
intervening, and stabilizing patients about whom there is minimal information.
Salary:
$67,019 annually
Education:
A trauma nurse has to
have a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. The minimum requirement is an RN
license available after the completion of a qualified nursing program.
Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to be
a trauma nurse because I’m recently volunteering in a hospital and I have
worked with trauma nurses and it looks like a very stressful job. Because the
patients are never calm and don’t listen cause they are always panicking and
you have to be the one keeping your calm when the patients scream or insult
them.
